100gstrawberries
150mlmilk(or plant-based alternative)
50mlhot water(for dissolving the matcha)
1tsp matcha powder
1tsp maple syrup or runny honey (optional) (optional)
ice cubes(optional)
Instructions
Mash the strawberries with a fork or blend them into a purée. Add maple syrup or honey (if using) and mix
well.
In a separate bowl, add 1 tsp of matcha powder and pour in 50 ml of hot (but not boiling – about 70–80°C) water. Mix thoroughly or whisk with a bamboo whisk (chasen).
Pour the strawberry mixture into the bottom of a tall glass, then add a few ice cubes. Pour in the milk (you
can froth it slightly if you like), and finally, slowly pour in the matcha to create a layered effect. Enjoy!
