Ingredients

  • 3 big apples (or 6 small)
  • 50 g oats
  • 70 g wholemeal wheat flour
  • 30 g dates
  • 20 g dried cranberries
  • 20 g walnuts
  • 60 g butter
  • 1 tsp sugar (or coconut sugar)
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • pinch of ground cloves
  • 6 tsp jam (low sugar)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Finely chop the dates, cranberries, walnuts, and place them in a bowl. Add oats, flour, butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and ground cloves. Mix all the ingredients, make sure that butter is completely combined with the other ingredients.
  • Cut the apples in half lengthwise and get rid of the core using a spoon. Add one tsp of cherry jam into each apple half (or ½ tsp if you use six apples instead of three). Divide the oat mixture between the apples (it goes on top of the cherry jam).
  • Place your apples on a baking tray. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through and tender. Serve them warm, optionally with a scoop of ice cream.
