Lemonade – there’s no need to remind anyone of this refreshing drink during the hot months. But who has tried watermelon lemonade? Sweet, cold, and full of ice, it’s perfect for any occasion – from a garden party to a relaxing moment on the balcony. It only takes a few ingredients and a little time to make. So, ready for some lemonade? Grab your watermelons and let’s get started!
Watermelon lemonade – ingredients
- Watermelon - the main ingredient that gives our lemonade its flavor. Be sure to choose a well-ripened, very sweet watermelon. This way, you won’t need to add much extra sweetener.
- Water - you can use either filtered/mineral water or sparkling water for this recipe. Choose whatever you prefer.
- Additions - I recommend adding a few fresh mint leaves for a refreshing touch. A few slices of lemon and plenty of ice are essential! You can also add watermelon wedges for decoration.
Do I have to add linden syrup?
Linden syrup is a nice addition because it has a delicate floral taste but isn’t unnecessary. If you have it at home, definitely add it to the lemonade. Otherwise, you can substitute it with runny honey. Sweeten the drink to your taste, as it depends a lot on how sweet your watermelon is. I suggest adding the sweetener little by little and tasting it as you go. Remember – the less, the better!
