Asparagus season is in full swing, so today we're offering another delightful recipe featuring this versatile vegetable. Asparagus paired with burrata cheese makes for a delicious combination, ideal as a spring appetiser, a light meatless meal, or dinner. Simply fry the green asparagus in a bit of butter, then combine with creamy burrata cheese, lemon zest, roasted almonds, olive oil, and a pinch of sea salt flakes. The flavours come together perfectly! Preparation takes just a few minutes, so be sure to give it a try—it might just become one of your favourite quick spring dishes.
You can whip up asparagus with burrata cheese in no time, but I wouldn't recommend preparing it too far in advance. It tastes best served immediately. Consider accompanying it with a slice of good quality sourdough bread or baguette for added texture.
Asparagus with burrata cheese – Tips
- To prepare this dish, you need only a few ingredients, yet quality is crucial. Opt for high-quality ingredients—especially the olive oil and burrata cheese.
- It’s advisable to take the burrata cheese out of the fridge early enough so it’s not too cold. This cheese is very delicate, particularly at room temperature. Thus, after cutting and placing it on the asparagus, it may spill over—but that’s ok!
- Select organic lemon for zesting.
- Be cautious with the sea salt flakes. It’s easy to over-salt. Just a small amount is enough.
For all lovers of delicate, creamy burrata, I have another tried-and-tested recipe - a summer salad that you simply must try because it’s scrumptious!

- Wash the asparagus thoroughly and trim or snap off the woody ends, then set aside.
- Melt the butter in a large frying pan, add the prepared asparagus, and grill for a few minutes until they begin to soften.
